Chapter 175
Desirability of returning Home soon after the Accomplishment of a Task
Hadith 984
Abu Hurairah reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "Travelling is a torment because it deprives a traveller of his food, drink and sleep. So when one of you has accomplished his purpose of journey, let him return home quickly.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. Commentary: Travel has been called a tribulation for two reasons. First, man misses his family, relatives and friends. Second, he also suffers its hardships and strains. He should, therefore, return home when the object of the journey is achieved.
