Relationship between the Qur'an and the Sunnah.


The Sunnah:-

1. Emphasises what is in the Qur'an
2. Details things/actions summarised in the Qur'an eg. Salah
3. Explains what appears to be problematic
4. Clarifies that which appears to be general
5. Places restrictions on the unrestricted
6. Explains the meanings of the vocabulary  in the Qur'an
7. Adds laws with no basis in the Qur'an eg Zakat Al-Fitr
8. Indicates that which was abrogated
9. Added some things we must believe in, which was not mentioned in the Qur'an eg. The intercession of the Prophet (Sallallahu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam)
