| Subject: He performed Hajj for his Mother but he forgot to say the Talbiyyah for her when assuming Ihram. Thu Sep 30, 2010 2:50 pm | |
| QuestionWhat is the ruling on someone who performed Hajj for his mother and at the Miqat he said the Talbiyyah for Hajj, but he did not say the Talbiyyah for his mother?AnswerAs long as his intention was to perform the Hajj for his mother, but he forgot, then verily the Hajj is still for his mother. The intention is what is strongest, due to the Prophet's (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) statement: "Verily, actions are only based upon intentions.” (Al-Bukhari no.1 and Muslim no. 1907) Thus, if the intent of his coming (to Makkah) was to perform the Hajj for his mother or his father, then he forgot when assuming Ihram, then verily, the Hajj is for the person whom he meant and intended, such as a father or a mother or someone else.
