| QuestionIf one reads the Qur’an well – all praise is due to Allah – is it better for him to recite often or should he listen to famous reciters on audio cassette, for example? AnswerWhat is better for him is to do what is better for his heart and what will have more effect on it. Because the purpose of recitation is to reflect and understand the meanings of the Qur’an and to act according to what Allah Almighty has ordered in it, as He said: (This is) a Book(the Qur'an) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember. [Sad 38] He also said: Verily, this Qur'ân guides to that which is most just and right [Al-Isra 17] and: Say: "It is for those who believe, a guide and a healing.
