As-Salaamu alaikum

Faqih – A learned person who can give religious verdicts.

A jurist,or learned person one who is an expert in matters of Islamic legal matters. He is to pass verdicts within the rules of the Islamic law mainly Shariah he must have a very good understanding of the religion so to derive rulings from both the Glorious Qur'an and Sunnah.
