As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,

www.MuslimMatters.org is a group blog run by some very dedicated brothers and sisters. They have articles about social life, politics, Islam, current events, you name it! Sh. Yasir Qadhi, Sh. Yaser Birjas and some other da'ees are authors there and the site is a good representation of those who follow the Qur'an and Sunnah yet live in the west or contemporary times.
