As-Salaamu alaikum

Haya – this term covers a large number of concepts. It may mean modesty, self-respect, bashfulness, honour, etc. Haya is of two kinds good and bad; the good Haya is be to ashamed to commit a crime or a thing which Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and His Messenger (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) has forbidden and bad Haya is to be ashamed to do a thing, which Allah and His Messenger (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) ordered to do.
